The Mt. Edgecumbe High Lady Braves secured second place in the ASAA state championship basketball tournament Saturday in Anchorage following a 49-38 loss to the Grace Christian Grizzlies.
In the consolation bracket, the Sitka High Lady Wolves lost their last game of the season in a 29-28 nailbiter against the Kenai Kardinals.
In the boys’ bracket, the Braves fell to the Houston Hawks 65-59, also Saturday, in the consolation match for third place. With the loss, MEHS took fifth place.
