The following calls were recorded as of 8 a.m. today.

January 31

At 5:26 a.m. a parking regulation in the 200 block of Lincoln Street was enforced.

At 10:10 a.m. a juvenile was reported missing in the 100 block of Lincoln Street. He was found and returned home.

An incident of drunkenness was reported at 3:28 p.m. in the area of Centennial Hall.

At 5:25 p.m. a juvenile was reported to have run away from home.  He was found and returned home.

At 9:07 p.m. a group of people were reported on the Blatchley outdoor basketball court. Police found nothing criminal was occurring.

At 10:32 p.m. a caller on Spruce Street reported neighbors were being noisy. Officers issued a verbal warning for disorderly conduct.

At 11:25 p.m. a vehicle was reported parked behind Centennial Hall. Officers found nothing criminal.

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received three ambulance calls Tuesday.

 

In Court

Sherry K. Binkie, 43, on an Oct. 14, 2022, charge of driving under the influence was sentenced to 90 days with 87 days suspended and fined $2,000 with $500 suspended. She is to complete an integrated behavioral health assessment and follow recommendations. Her driver’s license was revoked for 90 days, and after regaining driving privileges she is to use an ignition interlock device for six months. She will be on probation for a year. On a charge of violating conditions of release she is to serve one day. On two counts on July 13, 2022, of disorderly conduct - creating a hazard condition, a class B misdemeanor, she was sentenced to a total of six days with one day suspended, and fined a total of $500 with $250 suspended. Charges of disorderly conduct – creating a hazard condition; violating condition of release for a felony; and violating conditions of release for a misdemeanor were dismissed by the prosecution.

 

Marriages

Isaac De La Torre Hernandez and Donna Raquel Elizabeth Smith applied for a marriage license in January.

 

Divorces

Chris Steven Peterson and Rhonda Lynn (Fox) Peterson were granted a divorce in January.
