Police Blotter
The following calls were recorded as of 8 a.m. today.
February 9
At 12:40 a.m. a disturbance was reported in the 1800 block of HPR where men had been drinking. One was taken to the hospital and another was found to be rifling through merchandise at a nearby store.
A woman asked police for advice on a check she’d received in the mail and suspected was a scam.
A caller in the 4700 block of HPR said someone was stealing electricity from the home. Officers advised the suspected person to stop the theft.
A downtown store said someone had stolen a speaker, and the theft was caught on camera. However, the store did not want to press charges.
At 2:54 p.m. suspicious activity was reported in the 400 block of Marine Street but police determined a vehicle had backfired.
A caller said a relative was having suicidal thoughts. A health facility was contacted.
February 10
At 2:33 a.m. an officer found a vehicle with its doors open, at Eliason Harbor. The officer secured the vehicle.
At 3:14 a.m. people were reported sitting in a vehicle at Eagle Beach. Police found nothing criminal.

Sitka Fire Department received nine ambulance calls Thursday and one early this morning.
