    Sitka Police received the following calls by  8 a.m. today.
February 10
    Police were called about an issue with a dog.
    A resident asked for police presence while he demolished a house on Lake Street. The caller said he wanted an officer to “ensure clearance.”
    A cell phone that was found a few days ago was turned in.
    At 11:11 a.m. TSA asked for help dealing with gun ammo found in luggage. Police collected it for disposal.
    A resident lost a trifold wallet.
    EMS was requested for a resident whose oxygen readings were low.
    A Honda EU2000 was reported stolen from a shed on Kaasda Heen Circle.
    At 2:41 p.m. a hit and run was reported at or near Baranof Elementary School.
    At 5:04 p.m. a resident reported water coming down Wolff Drive, possibly from a clogged drain on the road. Public Works was advised.
    At 6:30 p.m. a caller complained about a large pothole, which damaged a vehicle being driven on Park Street and SMC. Police placed a cone at the hole, around 6:45 p.m.
    A regional drug officer called at 6:45 p.m. to ask the Sitka jail to house a man.
    At 6:45 p.m. a woman said two tires had blown out on her vehicle after she drove over a large pothole at Park and SMC. She said she was able to get out of the road, and would call for a tow later that day or the next.

In Court
    Izaak S. Needham, 50, was sentenced to 30 days, suspended, for misconduct involving a controlled substance in the fifth degree (possession); five days for each of two counts of violating conditions of release; and 10 days, suspended, for driving with a license revoked. He will be on probation for a year and is not to consume a controlled substance or be in a business that sells the substance. Sentences are consecutive. Charges of violating conditions of release and assault in the fourth (cause fear of injury) were dismissed.
       
Emergency Calls
    Sitka Fire Department received five calls for ambulances in the 24 hours ending 10 a.m. today.

Coast Guard
    The Coast Guard Air Station Sitka helicopter Monday evening flew a 10-week-old baby from Klawock to Sitka for medical care.
