Police Blotter
Sitka Police received the following calls by 8 a.m. today.
February 11
At 8 a.m. a caller said it sounded like her neighbor’s dogs were trying to get out of the house. The ACO found all was quiet.
At 10:27 a.m. a caller asked for help with a family member in distress. An ambulance was called.
At 11:42 a.m. a caller said a man who said his name was Kyle ordered food delivered, but when the food was delivered Kyle’s friend accepted the food but didn’t pay for it.
Alaska Wildlife Troopers received a report of possibly stolen snowmobiles found on Harbor Mountain Road, that appeared to be staged for riding. No snowmobiles were reported stolen.
A downtown store reported catching a shoplifter, and wanted to have her trespassed and charged.
At 7 p.m. a day care asked police to escort an argumentative person off the premises.
At 9:13 p.m. a caller reported receiving a suspicious note on her door. An officer said he would patrol the area, and advised her of options.
In Court
Alesa Rose Williams, 27, on a Jan. 30, 2019, charge of assault in the fourth degree, recklessly injure, was sentenced to 90 days with 85 suspended, ordered to get assessment and treatment, and placed on probation until Feb. 5, 2021. A charge of theft in the second degree; two counts of violating conditions of release for felony; one count of disorderly conduct, challenge to a fight;and a charge of assault in the fourth degree, recklessly injure, were dismissed by the prosecutor. On a charge of violating conditions of release for a felony she was found not guilty, and three counts of violating conditions of release for felony were dismissed by the prosecutor. On an Oct. 8, 2019, a charge of violating conditions of release for a misdemeanor she was sentenced to two days.
Shawn Morgan Beauchamp, 23, on a June 5, 2018, charge of theft in the second degree, a class C felony, was sentenced to 18 months with 15 months suspended. He was placed on probation for three years. Charges of theft in the third degree and criminal mischief in the fifth degree (damage under $250) were dismissed. Also dismissed by the prosecutor were charges of criminal mischief in the fourth degree, unauthorized use of computer access, and attempted theft in the fourth degree.
Michael E. Eggers, 38, on an Aug. 16, 2019, charge of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a class C felony, was sentenced to three years, with two years suspended, and placed on probation for three years. A charge of criminal trespass in the second degree, upon premises, was dismissed.
