The following calls were recorded as of 8 a.m. today.

February 10

At 2:33 a.m. an officer found a vehicle with its doors open, at Eliason Harbor. The officer secured the vehicle.

At 3:14 a.m. people were reported sitting in a vehicle at Eagle Beach. Police found nothing criminal.

February 11

At 1:27 a.m. a person who had mooned an officer in the 200 block of Katlian Street was given a verbal warning.

At 3:36 p.m. an assault was reported in the 1800 block of HPR. Police found nothing criminal had occurred.

At 4:21 p.m. an intoxicated man was reported sleeping in a business in the 1200 block of SMC. Officers awakened him and he moved on.

February 12

At 1:03 a.m. fireworks were reported seen in the area of Wolff Drive and SMC.

An animal call came in at 7:42 a.m. from Lake Street and SMC.

February 13

At 12:16 a.m. a man was reported sleeping in the smoke shack at the airport. He was awakened and moved on.

At 10:08 a.m. a man was reported sleeping in the bike shed behind city hall. He was awakened.

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received five ambulance calls Friday, five more on Saturday, and four on Sunday although one was canceled while an ambulance was en route.

 

Sitka Police

Robert E. Stein, 33, was charged Friday with driving under the influence.

Amanda R. Skulta, 36, was charged Saturday with disorderly conduct.

David Skultka, 40, was charged Saturday with violating conditions of release.

 

In Court

 

Sherry K. Binkie, 43, on two amended charges on July 13, 2022, of disorderly conduct, creating a hazard condition, was sentenced to three days, suspended, and fined $250, suspended, on one count; and sentenced to three days with two days suspended, and fined $250, on the other count. She will be on probation for a year. Dismissed by the prosecution were charges of disorderly conduct, creating a hazard condition, on July 13, 2022; violating conditions of release for a felony on Oct. 12, 2022; and violating conditions of release, on Oct. 20, 2022.
