    Sitka Police received the following calls by  8 a.m. today.
February 13
    A snowmobile was tagged as abandoned on the Harbor Mountain bypass road.
    A caller said when he left work he’d seen his vehicle was damaged.
    A wallet containing ID and a plane ticket was found in a ditch at HPR and Viking Way. The owner was called.
    At 12:24 p.m. a caller said a man was yelling and screaming downtown. He was just talking to himself when police arrived.
    A resident said her brother was making comments about harming himself. Officers talked to him and determined he was able to care for himself and advised him of his options.
    At 4:32 p.m. a caller said a woman leaves notes and comes to  the home at night claiming the caller  has her phone. The caller doesn’t have  the phone and has told the woman so, but she has returned. Police told the woman to stop contacting the resident.
    A caller with a vision impairment asked for help turning off her stove.
    A caller said her brother is having trouble with alcohol. He was given a ride to the hospital at a brother’s request.
    At 9:30 p.m. a resident asked for a welfare check on his mother after she told him she was going to call police about items stolen from her apartment. He said he is concerned because he is unable to reach her, and she never turns her phone off. More than an hour later the mother was found by a friend, who reported the mom was upset over the theft but otherwise OK.
    At 11:30 p.m. a woman reported items were stolen from her home while she was out of town. She told officers she didn’t need their help at this time, and planned to talk first to a neighbor who had a key.

Emergency Calls
    Sitka Fire Department received calls for ambulances at 7:21 and 11:40 p.m. Thursday, and 6:27 and 9:25 a.m. today.
    At 8:27 a.m. Thursday steam set off a fire alarm at Mt. Edgecumbe High School, and an alarm was pulled by accident at the Pioneers Home at 8:48 a.m. Thursday.
   
In Court
    Chellsey K. Musewski, 28, was sentenced last Thursday to two years in jail for promoting contraband in the first degree. The probable cause statement said a jail officer saw an item fall from Musewski’s clothing while she was changing into jail clothing, after she was arrested on a probation violation September 9. The item, police said, was a small white balloon containing a substance that appeared to be suboxone.
