Sitka Police Department logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.
February 11
An ID card was turned in at the police station. The owner was called.
At 8:52 a.m. a caller on Kramer Drive said a vehicle was illegally parked past the gates. Officers advised the driver to move on.
At 10 a.m. a man wearing camouflage was reported riding an ATV outbound in the 800 block of HPR. He was gone when officers arrived.
Bones that had been found in Totem Park were determined to be those of a deer.
At 1:25 p.m. a woman asked to speak to an officer about an assault.
At 2:18 p.m. a woman asked to speak to an officer about a man in Washington state making threats against the United States during a Zoom talk. Sitka police notified police in Washington state.
February 12
At 10:39 a.m. a woman called from out of state to ask for a welfare check on her brother in Sitka. Officers spoke to the brother’s employers and asked them to tell him to call his sister.
A downtown store asked to have someone trespassed.
A driver was reported swerving on Lake Street at 1:54 p.m. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.
At 7:33 p.m. a caller reported seeing a man take something from the back of his friend’s truck at Thomsen Harbor.
At 9:25 p.m. a caller on Oja Way said someone had put a protest sign in his yard and he wanted it documented.
At 11:20 p.m. a caller said a cat had been hit by a vehicle and was injured. Police told the caller to take it to the veterinarian.
February 13
At 1:22 a.m. a sign was reported blown down at the ferry terminal. The Department of Transportation was notified.
At 2:11 a.m. a noise complaint came in from a downtown bar.
At 4:16 p.m. a parent called in with a complaint about his daughter’s Instagram account.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received two ambulance calls Friday, two on Saturday and three on Sunday.
At 4:19 p.m. Sunday, a garage fire was reported at 201 Peterson Street but it turned out to be a smoking barbeque grill.

Azureus Stamets, 41, was charged Saturday with violating probation on July 11, 2021, charges of assault, misconduct involving a controlled substance (drugs), weapons charges, and charges of violating conditions of release.
