Sitka Police Department logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.

February 15

At 7:54 a.m. a vehicle was reported broken down and blocking the roadway in the 300 block of Marine Street. It was moved later in the day.

At 12:14 p.m. a traffic accident was reported at 224 Lincoln Street. A mother with two children was crossing Lincoln Street when she was brushed by a car. An ambulance was called but she declined it.

At 3:38 p.m. a man called from Sealing Cove to report a cat was trapped in his boat’s engine room. The cat was freed and returned to a woman who had called about the cat.

An out-of-town caller said his house-sitter had invited friends over, and property was missing. Police advised him of his options.

February 16

At 12:53 a.m. a man said he had been assaulted five days before. An officer opened a case report.

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 8:09 a.m., 9:35 a.m., 12:14 p.m. and 12:35 p.m. Tuesday.

A fire call came in at 11:13 a.m. Tuesday from 404 Lake Street but it was a false alarm.
