Sitka Police Department logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.
February 17
At 6:04 a.m. the waste water treatment plant was notified an alarm had gone off.
A woman called to report finding damage to her vehicle, apparently in a hit and run. However, she called back later to say a grandchild had been driving the vehicle.
At 8:45 p.m. an officer did a foot patrol at Eliason Harbor.
At 8:47 p.m. a caller said a chimney fire on Eagle Way had gotten out of control. Police and the Fire Department responded.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received three ambulance calls Thursday.
At 8:58 p.m. an engine was sent to 104 Eagle Way on a report of a chimney fire. No assistance was needed.
Sitka Police
Kevin See, 29, was charged with a probation violation Thursday in connection with Sept. 21, 2019, charges of assault in the third degree, assault in the second degree and vehicle theft.
Michael Roberts, 57, was charged Thursday with violating probation stemming from a Sept. 18, 2020, charge of driving under the influence.
In Court
Porter Treadway, 39, on an amended judgment on a March 18,2018, charge of burglary in the first degree in a dwelling, a class B felony, was sentenced to six years, to be served now. Charges of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the fourth degree, and criminal mischief in the fifth degree were dismissed without prejudice by the prosecuting attorney as part of a plea agreement.
Coast Guard
A Coast Guard Air Station Sitka helicopter crew on Thursday medevacked a 36-year-old woman Thursday from Hoonah to Juneau.
The helicopter took off around 10:30 a.m., picked up the woman, who had a medical emergency, and landed in Juneau just before noon, the Coast Guard said.
