Police Blotter
Sitka Police received the following calls by 8 a.m. today.
February 20
At 8:16 a.m. a resident said he was towing a boat when his tire came loose, causing him to pull off to the side of the road near the foot of the bridge. He said he would move it, and also that he doesn’t have a tag but plans to get one on Feb. 22.
A resident asked for a welfare check on someone making suicidal threats. He was fine and told officers he had no plans to harm himself.
At 2:31 p.m. caller reported a traffic accident in Seamart’s parking lot. No injuries were reported
At 5:40 p.m. a caller asked to speak to an officer about a domestic issue.
Feb. 21
At 12:51 a.m. a caller said a man was sleeping on the floor in an Eliason Harbor bathroom. An officer determined he could take care of himself.
At 5:54 a.m. TSA said a passenger was in need of ID verification.
Sitka Police
Cedar M. Mayo, 30, was arrested Thursday on a warrant for burglary in the second degree and theft in the second degree. He was indicted by a grand jury on Thursday on the two charges. The indictment said that on July 11 he entered or remained unlawfully in a building with intent to commit the crime of theft in the building, and took property valued at $750 or more.
Amanda R. Skultka, 33, was indicted Thursday on a charge of assault in the third degree, recklessly caused physical injury to another person by means of a dangerous instrument, a class C felony.
Tyler Phillips, 25, was arrested Thursday on a state bench warrant for failure to appear.
