Recall Dunleavy

Dear Editor: With our ferries shut down and Southeast towns running out of food, the University of Alaska shuttering more than a dozen degree programs, and Pioneers Home residents fighting in court to remain in their home, the next phase of signature-gathering for the recall of Gov. Mike Dunleavy couldn’t be happening soon enough.

The first petition-signing event will take place this Saturday, Feb. 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Hall (entrance 401 Spruce Street). Additional opportunities are scheduled for next Monday, March 2, and Wednesday, March 4, at Beak Restaurant (Raven Radio building) from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

All who signed a petition last fall must sign again. Bring two friends to help the recall proceed even more quickly. For more information, email beth@recalldunleavy.org or call 738-9942.
