Education Funding
Dear Editor: I would like to applaud Rep. Rebecca Himschoot for being a driving force in coordinating the passage of a viable educational funding bill through the Alaska House of Representatives.
This gives Sitka an outsized positive influence over the future of Alaskan students. This victory will be complete if Sen. Bert Stedman will show his usual high level of concern for fair and effective education in our state.
With our representative and our senator on the watch against Dunleavy’s inevitable veto and dictatorial line-item power, most of the good the education bill offers will be preserved. Way to go, Sitka!
