Police Blotter
Sitka Police received the following calls by 8 a.m. today.
February 4
An Andrew Hope Street resident reported tools were stolen from his shed in the last three weeks, including Skil saws, a chainsaw, drills, batteries and a bandsaw.
At 9 a.m. police coordinated with OCS for a welfare check on a student who didn’t go to an appointment.
A resident said his tires were slashed in the Eliason Harbor parking lot in the last day.
A bartender asked to sign a criminal trespass order against a man who had come into the bar around noon, jumped behind the counter, and took off when confronted.
A caller complained about the piles of snow making it difficult to see when pulling out of Shotgun Alley. Police gave the caller DOT’s number.
A hotel requested a trespass order.
At 3:45 p.m. a caller said a vehicle failed to stop for flashing school bus lights at SMC and Smith street.
A Wolff Drive resident reported finding large footprints around her house, approaching the steps and moving away. The caller asked police to check the area at night.
A resident asked to talk to an officer about a possibly intoxicated juvenile. Police talked to both.
February 5
At 12:36 a.m. an Andrews Street resident reported a noise disturbance had occurred 10 minutes before, and a woman had left the area. The caller wanted to remain anonymous and didn’t know who the other people were or specifically where the noise had come from. Officers were advised.
At 3:15 a.m. police were unable to locate signs of an intruder on Wolff Drive, after a caller suspected someone had entered the house.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received calls for ambulances at 8:48 a.m. Wednesday and 8:01 and 8:23 a.m. today.
