Marijuana Laws

Dear Editor: To Alaska and the lower 48: These past couple years you have grown up considerably as shown by the new leniency of the marijuana laws.

Unfortunately, it seems like there is always a fraction of people in every field who are against legalizing or actively pursuing our constitutional right to be happy.

Now that Alaska has passed a marijuana law they are now setting up various groups to whittle away at our constitutional right to use objects that we like to use.

I know it’s more complicated than this, but if you want to save a lot of money from the fat-cat government people who make their money by stalling by making the marijuana laws equal to or less than the laws for alcohol.

I have a strange feeling that the people who are wanting to pass these laws prohibiting the use of marijuana are not users themselves thereby removing themselves from the discussion. I would have to add an addendum that would allow nonusers with a PhD and marijuana sciences to be allowed to speak. We should all be very pleased that we have taken the first right step on the war on drugs. I personally believe that the juvenile population will have the choice of using marijuana or alcohol since both are illegal for minors. Since marijuana is far less damaging than alcohol I believe that we have saved many lives Thank you for listening to my rant.
