February 3
At 12:53 a.m. a possible domestic problem was reported in the 4700 block of HPR. Officers found nothing criminal had occurred.
At 5:36 a.m. a parking violation was reported in the 200 block of Lincoln Street.
At 10:13 a.m. a hit and run was reported at 315 Lincoln Street. It’s under investigation.
At 7:42 p.m. a domestic problem was reported. Nothing criminal was found.
February 4
At 9:32 a.m. contact was made with a citizen in the 1300 block of SMC concerning a problem with a vehicle.
At 11:59 p.m. a complaint was made about noise at Eliason Harbor.
February 5
At 12:16 a.m. citizen contact was made at a downtown bar.
At 1:30 a.m. fireworks were reported seen on Indian River Road.
A report of possible drunkenness was reported at 12:36 a.m. on Patterson Way. The report is being investigated.
At 1:32 p.m. and 7:50 p.m. a welfare check was requested on an Osprey Street resident, who turned out to be fine.
At 5:04 p.m. an incident of drunkenness was reported in the 700 block of HPR.
At 9:15 p.m. a domestic problem was reported at a downtown apartment. Police found it was a verbal argument between a man and a woman.
Sitka Police
William Stanley, 54, was charged Saturday with violating conditions of release.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received four ambulance calls Friday, two on Saturday, and five on Sunday.
Coast Guard
Coast Guard Air Station Sitka successfully searched for an overdue sailing boat Saturday.
The vessel, Morning Flight, with one person aboard, was expected to arrive in Wrangell Saturday on a trip from Ketchikan. The Air Station received the report around 11:30 a.m., and by 12:10 p.m. the helicopter team had located the sailboat in Meyers Chuck. The 40-year-old skipper told the Coast Guard via phone call that he had been delayed due to weather and was otherwise fine.
After finishing the case, the crew was asked to pick up a Klawock patient with a hernia emergency. The 58-year-old man was flown to Ketchikan for medical care.
Wildlife Troopers
Ed Laity, 52, was cited February 5 for allegedly taking an overlimit of sea cucumbers during an October 2022 commercial sea cucumber opening in the Sitka area, Alaska Troopers said its daily dispatch report.
