    Sitka Police received the following calls by  8 a.m. today.
February 6
    At 1 p.m. a caller on Sirstad Street reported finding footprints in the snow  going to the back of his residence then back out into the roadway. Nothing was missing but the caller wanted the information reported.
    At 2:05 p.m. a caller said a vehicle had been parked at Sitka High School for several days. Dispatch contacted the vehicle’s owner, who said her daughter drives it and it hasn’t been parked at the school for days. At 3:19 p.m. a caller in the 3300 block of HPR said a vehicle parked on a city easement was being used to chop wood. An officer responded and did not find either a vehicle parked on city easement or evidence of wood chopping.
    A caller asked for a welfare check on a client. An officer made contact with the client,  who said she was taking a nap and missed her appointments. A message was left at the caller’s business phone.
    A caller on Lance Drive said several vehicles with loud mufflers and loud music were constantly driving up and down Lance Drive.
    At 8 p.m. a caller reported chest pain and possible broken ribs, and asked for EMS. He was taken to the hospital.
   
Sitka Police
    Michael Souza, 41, was charged with two counts of assault in the third degree Thursday, after a resident said he’d been threatened by a man with a gun.
 
Emergency Calls
    Sitka Fire Department received two ambulance calls Thursday.
