The following calls were recorded as of 8 a.m. today.
February 7
An incident of drunkenness was reported in the 300 block of Lincoln Street at 7:21 a.m.
At 10:30 a.m. a trooper reported seeing someone illegally cutting trees in the 1500 block of SMC. Officers were advised.
At 8:18 p.m. a caller reported men were drinking, smoking and urinating outside Centennial Hall. They were gone when officers arrived.
February 8
At 5:33 a.m. unattended backpacks were seen outside the library. It was decided the owners would be picking them up.
At 6:28 a.m. a tree was reported to have blown down across the road near Whale Park, blocking traffic. Officers did traffic control until the Department of Transportation could clear the road.
Sitka Police
Mckenzie Cline, 26, was charged Jan. 27 with assault in the fourth degree, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received four ambulance calls and an automatic fire alarm.
