Dear Editor: Brave Heart Volunteers extends our heartfelt thanks to the Sitka community for the extraordinary support shown during our February Fill the Heart Campaign.
Because of the generosity of our community, we raised $14,400 in individual donations during the month of February. This exceeded our original matching goal of $10,000 and, with the full match from our generous donors, brought the total raised to $24,400 in support of Brave Heart Volunteers!
We are deeply grateful to Tonya and Mike Venneberg, Kim and Bob Hunter, and an anonymous donor whose combined $10,000 matching gift inspired such strong community participation. Their leadership encouraged many others to give, share the campaign, and help spread the word.
Most of all, we thank the many individuals who contributed. Your support allows Brave Heart Volunteers to continue connecting caring volunteers with neighbors who may be experiencing isolation, grief, or the end of life. Through companionship, presence, and simple human connection, we work to ensure that no one has to face life’s most vulnerable moments alone.
