First One Out

About a dozen Sitkans watch as the first boat is hauled out of Silver Bay on a 150-ton Travelift at the new city haulout facility in the Gary Paxton Industrial Park Thursday afternoon. Sitka fisherman Eric Jordan was eager to have his troller, the F/V I Gotta, be the first one to use the facility that was mostly paid for using funds from the city's sale of the community hospital property to SEARHC.
