Food Protection Manager Classes Offered Via Zoom

Posted

University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service will offer three certified food protection manager classes in May and June.

The course will cover the material required to pass the National Restaurant Association’s ServSafe Manager exam for Alaska.

A certified food protection manager is responsible for monitoring and managing all food establishment operations to ensure compliance with regulations. State regulations require that all food establishments have at least one certified food protection manager on staff.

Classes are 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.  May 7, June 9 and 30, with a lunch break. They are available statewide via Zoom or in person in Fairbanks.

The $200 fee includes instruction, training manual and one proctored certification exam, with proctors in Fairbanks, Juneau, Sitka and other communities upon request.

Instructor Leslie Shallcross can be contacted at lashallcross@alaska.edu or 907 474-2426 for additional information or to request another location. Participants are asked to register at least two weeks prior to class so they can receive and study the manual before the class.

Registration links and more information are available on the Cooperative Extension CFPM website.

The work is supported by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture.
