Dear Editor: The family of Tad Fujioka is honored to announce that applications are open for the Tad Fujioka Memorial Scholarships, thanks to the support of many generous donors.
To remember Tad’s legacy of service and leadership, three scholarships each for $3,000 will be available to graduating seniors from Sitka High School, Pacific High School, Mt. Edgecumbe High School, or Sitka REACH Home School who have demonstrated service to their community and seek training for careers to support the wellbeing of small Alaska communities.
Higher education at the college or vocational training level is eligible. To apply, go to the Alaska Community Foundation scholarship page: https://alaskacf.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create/fund?funit_id=13183
We encourage seniors from all of these schools to apply, and we look forward to supporting the next generation of community leaders as they learn and grow. The application portal is open now and closes on March 15.
Sara Beaber-Fujioka, Sitka
