Apology and Plea

Dear Sitka: I sat down to complete my 2013 PFD application last night and when I went to “Pick. Click. Give.” an extra donation to the Sitka Summer Music Festival, I made a terrible discovery: The Sitka Summer Music Festival is NOT listed as one of the charitable organizations that can benefit from this year’s Pick. Click. Give.
Since I was at the helm of the Sitka Summer Music Festival when the applications were due last March, it is my fault that we did not make the list. I am mortified and with this note, I want to apologize to all the lovely fans of the Sitka Summer Music Festival.
And, since Pick. Click. Give. Donations make up about $2,000 to $3,000 of giving to the festival’s already lean budget, I would like to ask all people who have ever made a huge mistake to please consider joining me in making an extra gift to the Sitka Summer Music Festival this year.
Thank you for your consideration and again, I am really sorry.
Bobi Rinehart,
Former Executive Director of the
Sitka Summer Music Festival

Appreciation

Dear Editor: I want to again say thank you to everyone who helped me. Although I don’t remember all the names of the people involved in helping after my mishap, I remember the care and concern of your voices and that was so comforting.
People, Sitka may be small, but our rescue teams and fellow boaters are world class.
Jerry Hall, Sitka
