Sitka Police Department logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.

January 10

A caller reported his credit card had been used by someone else. Police are investigating.

At 12:12 p.m. Sitka police helped Anchorage police in conducting interviews.

At 3:33 p.m. a caller reported a man from outside the neighborhood was hanging around Lance Drive, and at 3:36 p.m. a caller reported a man from outside the neighborhood was hanging around Burkhart Drive. Officers spoke to the men, who had valid reasons to be in the area.

At 8:40 p.m. a vehicle was reported to have been parked for some time on private property near the Sawmill Creek Plaza. The vehicle owner was given a verbal warning.

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 11:39 a.m. and 12:19 p.m. Monday.

 

In Court

Kyle R. Newman, 31, on a charge of attempted misconduct involving a controlled substance in the second degree, a class B misdemeanor, on Aug. 19, 2019, was ordered on Jan. 6 to serve one day. He was fined $2,500, and placed on probation for five years.
