Basketball

Dear Editor: I am writing to voice my opinion on our upcoming basketball tournament.

Last year our nephew, Rudy Bean, got hurt very bad by an opposing team member. Someone said it was almost five minutes before someone went to check on him. Really? We weren’t at that game because we were ill. But Rudy and the Kake team won seven championships in a row at Gold Medal in Juneau. Rudy has won several MVP titles. That alone means we should show our ballplayers respect. We love basketball. Frank and our family go to Gold Medal every year. We love basketball games. We always support our Kake team! What does sportsmanship mean?

Define sportsmanship: fair play, respect for opponents, and polite behavior by someone who is competing in a sport or other competition – usage, synonyms ...

May all our ballplayers have fun in our great city. Our town is a friendly town. We love our basketball players when you are playing, Play ball!
