Grand Jury
Tia M. Brown, 30, was indicted Thursday by a grand jury on a charge of tampering with physical evidence. She is alleged to have “submitted urine samples from a plastic container to conceal the evidence of her illegal drug use” on Jan. 2, police said in court documents.
Brown was arrested during a probationary home visit, during which she was directed to submit two urine samples, which were tested, court documents said.
Brown was placed under arrest, but refused to place her hands behind her back, police said. While the probation officer was attempting to place Brown’s hands behind her back, a small bottle with a homemade lid fell onto the floor. “The bottle was consistent with a device used to store and deposit a false sample,” police said.
