Police Blotter
Sitka police logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today:
January 15
At 7:44 a.m. a caller said a vehicle had hit the back of a truck on Granite Creek Road. Both parties were given self-report forms.
At 8:19 a.m. a caller said a pile of deer bones with a large amount of meat was in the Sealing Cove parking lot. The ravens were going after it, the caller said, and he was concerned. Dispatch contacted Fish and Game, left a message for the troopers and advised officers. An officer moved the pile out of the roadway, and a trooper disposed of the carcass.
At 12:13 p.m. a caller reported a three-vehicle crash at 401 HPR, with no injuries but damage to all three vehicles. Later, an officer made contact with a driver at the hospital.
At 1:22 p.m. a caller said a man in a restaurant had become verbally abusive and began yelling at people who weren’t there when he was refused more alcohol. He left while the caller was on the phone to police. The restaurant owner may ask for a trespass notice later, the caller said.
At 3:37 p.m. a caller said an unknown Toyota was parked in her driveway in the 2800 block of HPR. Dispatch called the registered owner, who said it had been loaned to a family member, who would be contacted to move it.
At 7:50 p.m. a caller in the 1500 block of Edgecumbe said a neighbor’s aggressive dog had bitten the landlord’s dog and last week had charged the caller and bitten his dog. His dog was OK, but the caller was worried about the safety of children who live in the building.
Sitka Police
Miguel Garcia, 22, was charged with violating conditions of release late Wednesday.
Matthew Konoske, 55, was charged with criminal mischief in the fourth degree, domestic violence, early this morning.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 2:55 p.m.,3:13 p.m. and 8:38 p.m. Wednesday, and 2:24 a.m. today.
