Legacy Fund Grant

Dear Editor: Mt. Edgecumbe Preschool was the recent fortunate recipient of a grant from the Greater Sitka Legacy Fund. Funds from the grant will be used to purchase professional development resources for use by all Sitka early childhood teachers. Local professional development opportunities are limited and we are very grateful for this generous investment in our early childhood programs.

Thank you, Greater Sitka Legacy Fund!

Funding Support

Dear Editor: In six weeks, the staff at Betty Eliason Child Care Center will travel to Juneau to attend the Southeast Alaska Association for the Education of Young Children Conference.

This is an excellent opportunity for these educators and daycare providers to gain valuable knowledge as it relates to the care and education of the young children of Sitka. As a non-profit, we rely on grants from local entities in order to make trips like these affordable. The attendance at the conference was made possible by grants from the Sitka Greater Legacy Fund, an affiliate of the Alaska Community Foundation, as well as from the City of Sitka.

BECCC is grateful for the continued support from ACF and the city and the value they place on the education of the citizens of Sitka.

Shanna Tadic, Board President,

Board of Directors,

and staff of BECCC
