The following are some of the calls received by the Sitka Police Department before 8 a.m. today:
January 18
At 8:54 a.m. a caller asked to talk to an officer about being harassed by a former boyfriend.
A protective order was received by the police department to serve.
At 11:20 a.m. a resident said someone was trying to break into their house. Police called back, no one answered so officers left a voicemail for the caller.
At 2:52 p.m. police received a subpoena to serve.
At 3:18 p.m. police are investigating a report of stalking.
At 3:50 p.m. a resident expressed concern about a man taking photos of children at the skate park. It turned out to be one of the children’s parents. Nothing was amiss.
At 4:47 p.m. a resident reported a battery booster was stolen from a Burkhart Street home. Police are investigating.
A resident asked for a civil standby but didn’t have a court order for police to provide one. He was given his options.
At 7:12 p.m. a caller said someone was trying to trespass in his yard. Police responded to the Osprey Street property, but the caller had no further information.
Police performed security checks at Starrigavan boat launch due to reported thefts in the past two months, police said. A number of parking and animal complaints were also received.

The Sitka Fire Department dispatched ambulances on calls at 10:54 a.m. Tuesday and 6:38 a.m. today.
Sitka Police
David V. Evenson Jr., 31, was charged Monday with assault in the fourth degree and interfering with a domestic violence report. He was arraigned Tuesday and is being held at the Sitka jail.
