January 18
At 6:18 a.m. an iPhone found in the 300 block of Lincoln Street was turned in.
At 7:12 a.m. Russell’s reported several items, including a sandal, had been found on the sidewalk in front of the store. The items were to be left there for a time.
At 9:30 a.m. a welfare check was requested at the Starrigavan boat launch.
Police received information regarding sexual abuse of a minor.
At 11:55 a.m. a baggie with white crystals was reported found at a hotel. The contents tested as amphetamines and were disposed of.
A caller said backpacks had been left on property in the 1800 block of SMC, and he wanted them removed. He was advised of his options.
At 6:08 p.m. a caller reported a reckless driver off Monastery Street. Police found the driver had a medical issue and EMS was called.
At 10:17 p.m. a phone was found in the area of Burkhart Drive and Price Street. It was returned to the owner.
January 19
At 7:10 a.m. a passport card was placed in the police station drop box. The owner was to be located.
Sitka Police
Charles S. Jim, 32, of Kake, was charged this morning with driving under the influence.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received seven ambulance calls Wednesday.
