Basketball Tourney
Dear Editor: I would like to thank all who supported the 10th annual Mt. Edgecumbe Invitational Basketball Tournament last week. 24 teams from around Alaska participated in 4 day event! We had a great number of spectators and record number of games played! All of the proceeds from the tournament go directly back to MEHS activities.
Thank you to our local sponsors: Schmolck Mechanical, Westmark Sitka, Shee Atika Inc., Sitka Bottling, Sitka CHARR and Miller Equipment.
Thank you also to all of our volunteers: Rose Demmert, Linda Blakenship, Kathy Hope-Erickson, Georjeana Wallace, Evie England, Sam Martin, Hillary Martin, Gene Bartolaba, Blossom Twitchel, Keith Perkins, Gary Lang, Terry Friske and Dr. Gil Truitt for volunteering many hours on and off the court. Thank you also to the MEHS students and staff that worked extra-long hours to help produce a great event.
Again, thank you for supporting MEHS and our students.
Andrew Friske,
Mt. Edgecumbe High School
Residential/Activities Principal
