The following calls were received by police by 8 a.m. today:

January 20

At 10:39 a.m. a resident asked for options about dealing with someone staying with her who had become unruly. An officer advised her of options.

At 1:20 p.m. a caller reported his daughter’s bike was possibly stolen or lost, and provided a description of the bike. He said he would call back if and when his daughter finds her bike.

At 1:40 p.m. residents asked officers to assess damage after a parked car was hit in a parking lot in a Seward Street parking lot. Police gave those involved an accident self-report form since it was on private property.

At 3:41 p.m. police were called about a dispute between neighbors. Officers spoke to both parties, determined no criminal activity had occurred and advised them of their option.

At 11:56 p.m. police helped a resident whose hotel key card was not working.

 

Emergency Calls

The Sitka Fire Department dispatched an ambulance at 10:55 a.m. Thursday.

At 11:05 a.m. today a fire truck was sent to 212 Lance Drive on a transformer fire. It was out when firefighters arrived. One resident lost power, and the electric department was on scene when the fire department left.

At 11:32 a.m. today a fire truck was sent to Allen Auditorium on a false alarm.

 

Coast Guard

A helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Sitka on Thursday afternoon medevacked a 50-year-old patient with chest pains from Skagway to Juneau Thursday afternoon.

The helicopter took off from Sitka around 4:45 p.m., picked up the patient around 5:45 p.m. and landed in Juneau after 6 p.m., the Coast Guard said.
