Police Blotter
Sitka police logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today:
January 23
A caller in the 3100 block of HPR said drivers keep parking in his driveway, blocking his access, and one was there now.
A caller said a man was harassing him. Officers advised the caller of his options.
An Anna Drive resident said as he left his house a woman was parked behind his vehicle and gas had been poured in his driveway. Police documented the report.
At 3 p.m.. a caller said a vehicle had hit another in the Centennial Hall parking, and the driver had left without leaving a note.
A caller reported getting text messages and phone calls from a woman claiming to be from the Social Security Administration. The caller contacted the SSA and was told they don’t send texts or call.
At 3:35 p.m. a caller reported getting flowers at work with a harassing note attached. An officer spoke with the caller, who said she just wanted the incident documented, and the call wasn’t threatening.
At 4:51 p.m. a caller said a vehicle he reported earlier was blocking access to his driveway was still there. Dispatch was unable the contact the vehicle owner right away.
At 6:20 p.m. police noted a charge of criminal mischief in the fifth degree will be forwarded to the ADA.
At 11 p.m. a caller said she was in town staying with a friend, but the friend became intoxicated and she asked what her options were. She wasn’t harmed and she didn’t feel she was in danger, but decided to check into a hotel room.
11:23 p.m. police made contact with a man at 517 Airport Rd. and advised him to find another place to stay for the night. An officer spoke with airline staff, who told him the man had been kicked off all Alaska Airlines flights.
January 24
At 2 a.m. a caller reported witnessing a burglary at an inn in which a guest’s bank card and watch were stolen from him by another man. An officer found the level of intoxication among the parties led to a misunderstanding. The watch and bank card were returned to the owner.
At 3:21 a.m. a caller at an inn said he was afraid of getting beat up by two individuals, and was locked out of his room. An officer confirmed the caller was intoxicated but able to care for himself, and contacted the inn manager to get the caller another room key.
At 4:39 a.m. a caller asked for EMS for her daughter, who’d recently had surgery. The daughter was taken to the hospital.
