Fundraiser Thanks
Dear Editor: The Sitka Maritime Heritage Society would like to thank everybody who attended our fundraiser, “1920: Murder on Chatham Strait.” It was a fascinating evening, and a great success – a sold-out show – with Wildflour Cafe’s raspberry cheesecake!
Thank you, Raven Radio and Daily Sitka Sentinel, for all the publicity. Thanks to Old Harbor Books for generously handling the ticket sales for us. Thanks to the Harrigan Centennial Hall staff for the help setting up the space exactly right. A huge thank you to our speakers, Betsy Longenbaugh and Ed Schoenfeld, for donating your time- you brought 1920s Southeast Alaska to life for us with a well-researched and interesting slice of history.
Our next big event will be our annual meeting in February. This year the topic will be “Scows and Fish Buyers” at the ANB Founders Hall – details to follow.
