Sitka Police Department logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.
January 25
At 8:40 a.m. a vehicle hit the rear of a vehicle stopped at Peterson Street and HPR. No injuries resulted and the drivers were given self-report forms.
At 9:38 a.m. a small white and tan dog was reported running at large at Sirstad Street and Verstovia. It was gone when the animal protection officer arrived.
A caller said he’d arrived at work and found a pressure washer that wasn’t his.
At 12:01 p.m. a juvenile was reported to have hit another juvenile at a school. A case is being prepared for the juvenile probation officer.
At 1:50 p.m. a driver was reported being reckless in the 3200 block of HPR.
At 2:44 p.m. refuse from a lot being cleared in the 800 block of HPR was reported to have been dumped at Gary Paxton Industrial Park. The company clearing the lot agreed to remove the refuse and take it to Granite Creek overburden site.
At 3:08 p.m. a small white and tan dog was reported running at large at HPR and Cascade Creek Road. It was gone when the APO arrived.
At 3:56 p.m. an ATV was reported being ridden on Lance Drive. It was gone when officers arrived.
At 4:39 p.m. a couple was reported arguing on Burkhart Drive. Officers advised the two of their options.
At 7 p.m. a woman said a man was creeping around her home, peeping in windows. Officers responded.
At 7:08 p.m. a man was reported to have collapsed suddenly at a business in the 100 block of Lincoln Street. He was later declared deceased.

Sitka Fire Department received six ambulance calls Tuesday.

David Evenson, 31, was arrested on a warrant on charges of assault in the fourth degree and interfering with a domestic violence report.
In Court
Derek Bart Stewart, 33, on a Dec. 22, 2021, charge of assault in the fourth degree–recklessly injure was sentenced to 90 days with 60 suspended. He is to get a behavioral health assessment and follow recommendations, and is to be on probation for one year. A charge of violating conditions of release was dismissed.
Stephen M. Timmer, 52, on a charge of driving under the influence was fined $2,000 with $500 suspended, and ordered to get a behavioral health assessment and follow recommendations. His license was revoked for 90 days, and after regaining driving privileges he is to use an ignition interlock device for six months. He will be on probation one year.
Coast Guard
A Coast Guard Air Station Sitka helicopter crew on Tuesday medevacked a 54-year-old Hoonah man with stroke symptoms, and flew him to Juneau. The helicopter launched at 7:15 p.m., arrived in Hoonah at 8:25 p.m. and took off for Juneau at 8:50 p.m.
