Dear Editor: The Sitka Fine Arts Camp would like to take a moment to thank the local businesses and individuals who contributed to this year’s Jazz on the Waterfront gala.
We are so grateful for all the contributions to our silent and live auctions and to all the folks who bid on items and donated, helping us raise over $120,000 the night of the event.
This year we are raising money for reparations to North Pacific Hall, one of the residential buildings on campus. The project will oversee the installation of a high efficiency heat pump, plumbing, electrical and safety upgrades, and general cosmetic updates. Estimated costs for the project are $3.2 million, of which close to $2 million has already been raised.
Thank you to the event’s sponsors: Holland America Lines, ConocoPhillips, Alaska Permanent Capital Management, and White’s Inc.
A big thank you to the local businesses and individuals who contributed: Alaska Pure Sea Salt Co., Alaskan Designed, Anja Brooks-Schmidt, Annika Krafcik, Charlie Bloede, Daily Sitka Sentinel, Eric Dow, Fate Accompli, Hames Center, Island Artists Gallery, James Poulson, Mollie Kabler, Old Harbor Books, Paulla Hardy, Rebecca Poulson, Seafood Producers Cooperative, Selkie Snorkels, Sitka Rose Gallery, The Crazy Bear Co., and Wildflour Café.
