Police Blotter
    Police received the following calls by 8 a.m. today:
June 28
    A caller said two men who appeared to be on drugs were roaming the docks, probably looking for things to steal. Officers didn’t find the men.
    A full jerry jug with a Darth Vader stencil on it was stolen off a boat.
    A caller said a friend got a text from her daughter asking for help. Officers checked the area where the daughter was thought to be staying in a tent but found no daughter or tents.
    A caller who lost $1,000 downtown asked whether it had been turned in.
    At 4:42 p.m. a caller said drivers of two scooters crossed the middle line on HPR. Officers spoke to the drivers and found no sign of impairment.
    At 9 p.m. fireworks were reported near 200 Mills Street. An officer patrolled the area but heard nothing.
    At 9:36 p.m. a caller on Seward Street said a construction crew had been running late into the night. An officer spoke to the crew who agreed to stop for the night.
    At 11:24 p.m. fireworks were reported on Edgecumbe Drive.
June 29
     A 28-year-old woman was cited for urinating in public on Harbor Drive.
    At 3:25 a.m. a 911 caller said an apparently intoxicated man was trying to get in a residence, and had been seen going through the fence on the caller’s property. Officers found a man on the ground who had a PBT of .175 but was able to care for himself. He said he was from out of town and gotten turned around. A cab was called.
    A washer, dryer and furnace were reported left on O’Cain Street property.
    A caller said a woman was having a breakdown and was in a loud  argument with a man. Officers talked to the couple, who were fine. They admitted to camping in the airport area and  were told to camp in designated sites.
    Tools and other items were reported missing from Martin Island.
     At 3 p.m. the library said a man had passed out in a bathroom stall. Officers assisted the man, who had a PBT of .244.
    At 8:09 p.m. a caller said he’d heard what might be a bear in the brush in the 4100 block of HPR.
June 30
    At 12:45 a.m. a caller said residents in the 2800 block of SMC were setting off fireworks. Officers saw no signs of fireworks.
    A red iPhone 7-plus was lost.
    At 10:49 a.m. intoxicated passengers were reported in a car on SMC. Officers found the driver was alert.
     Three kids turned in a phone and wallet. Word was left for the owner.
    A woman said her daughter lost her flute at the airport.
    A Maksoutoff Street resident said her small male cat was missing.
    At about 2:40 p.m. police received multiple calls about a naked man sitting in front of the library. He blew a .260 PBT when police caught up with him. The hospital took him into protective custody.
    A construction crew at DeGroff and Baranof said they were flushing out their excavation site all night, and police might get calls about running water.
    A caller said her son left his phone at the bus stop on Lincoln Street, and the man who answered said he wouldn’t return it unless the owner paid him alcohol. Police talked to the man, who agreed to return it.
    An intoxicated man was seen falling down in the 2700 block of HPR. He was headed home, police said.
    At 10:08 p.m. screaming was reported on Observatory Street. All was quiet when police arrived.
     At 10:40 p.m. a leaking sound was reported at a fish plant. Police found one of the units was being defrosted and nothing was amiss.
 
Sitka Police   
    Itzel Nunez, 21, was charged Friday with violating conditions of release.
    David Allen Theodore, 34, of Glenallen, was arrested on a trooper warrant on charges of assault in the third degree and sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree Friday.
    Leonard C. Nielsen, 51, was charged Saturday with assault in the fourth degree, domestic violence.
    Kalina Heitman-Merkel, 28, was charged with criminal trespass in the second degree.
    David Fletcher, 51, was charged Sunday with driving under the influence.
   
Emergency Calls
    Sitka Fire Hall received two ambulance calls Friday, one Saturday, and five on Sunday.
