Town Hall

Dear Editor: We would like to thank a number of folks for making this past Friday’s Health Care Town Hall a thoughtful and informative event. We are grateful for the 80-plus people who attended and shared their experiences, questions and concerns. Thank you to our senators for sending statements, particularly to Sen. Murkowski for writing a statement specifically for our gathering. Thank you to Christine Davenport, Owen Kindig, Zoe Kitchel and Alice Smith for helping to document constituents’ messages; to Emma Bruhl and Auriella Hughes for organizing and spreading the word; for Andrea Thomas for sharing her knowledge and expertise; to Peter Bradley and the Island Institute for expanding our public; to the staff of Sheet’ka Kwaan Naa Kahidi for their flexibility, technical support and encouragement.

Every single person in Alaska will feel the impact of this bill should it pass. We hope you will continue to track the bill, and write letters and make calls to Sen. Murkowski and Sen. Sullivan. Their shared Juneau office address is at 800 Glacier Ave, Suite 101, Juneau AK 99801, and their staffers are available to take constituents’ comments at (907) 586-7277.

Anna Lee Hirschi and

Ellen Frankenstein,
