Sitka Police Department received the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.

July 13

An incident of drunkenness was reported at Eliason Harbor at 1 a.m.

A bear was reported on Indian River Road at 1:29 a.m.

A bear was reported on Lance Drive at 2:44 a.m.

At 2:47 a.m. officers stood by while a man moved out of a house.

A bear was reported on Mikele Street at 3:13 a.m.

Parking problems were logged at 600 Katlian, ANB Harbor parking lot and the Castle Hill parking lot.

At 2:21 p.m. a caller reported men were passing around a bottle and peeing in a parking lot. Officers gave them a warning.

At 3:34 p.m. a driver was reported passed out in the line at McDonald’s. Officers tended to the situation.

A caller reported sexual abuse of a minor. An investigation is underway.

At 6:43 p.m. a disturbance was reported at Centennial Hall.

At 6:48 p.m. a car was reported flipped over at Donna Drive and Cascade Creek Road. The driver, who had been ejected, was taken to the hospital. The car was uprighted and moved.

At 7:38 p.m. suspicious activity was reported in the 2700 block of HPR. Officers found nothing amiss.

A traffic complaint at Eliason Harbor was logged at 8:31 p.m.

An animal problem was reported in the 1100 block of Edgecumbe at 8:51 p.m.

Citizen contact was made at 1700 HPR at 9:19 p.m.

At 9:25 p.m. citizen contact was made in the 1100 block of Edgecumbe.

At 11:28 p.m. a vehicle with improper plates was reported at Sandy Beach.

July 14

At 12:04 a.m. a caller reported three men were breaking into a vehicle in the 200 block of Marine Street. Officers talked to three men at Osprey and Marine streets but found nothing was missing and no damage.

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received nine ambulance calls Tuesday.

James D. Hollingshead, 33, was charged Tuesday afternoon with driving under the influence.
