Police received the following calls as of 8 a.m. today:

July 14

A bear was seen on Charlie Joseph Street at 1:42 a.m.

Suspicious activity was reported in the 2000 block of SMC at 9:33 a.m. and 12:18 p.m.

A traffic stop was made in the 2500 block of HPR at 9:54 a.m.

A report of threatening on  Andrews Street was filed at 4:09 p.m.

An animal problem arose in the 700 block of SMC at 8:05 p.m.

At 11:23 p.m. a bear was reported in the 700 block of Pherson Street.

July 15

At 12:12 a.m. a bear was reported on Tilson Street.

A drug violation on Lake Street was logged at 12:36 a.m.

At 12:23 a.m. a bear was reported on Wachusetts Street.

A noise complaint at a downtown hotel was logged at 3:09 a.m.

Sitka Fire Department received two ambulance calls Tuesday.

 

Grand Jury In

Sitka Indicts 3

Ty Walker Davis, 24, and Terrance Roth, 20, were indicted July 9 on charges of theft in the second degree. They are accused of stealing an access device from another, on June 22, 2018,  a class C felony. They are to appear before the Superior Court in Sitka on July 21, with the option of participating by phone.

 

Nathaniel Scott Coble, 40, was indicted July 9 on a charge of burglary in the second degree. He is accused of entering a building on May 17 to commit the crime of theft, a class C felony offense. He is to appear in Superior Court in Sitka on July 21. He may participate by phone.
