Police received the following calls as of 8 a.m. today:

July 16

At 1:57 a.m. a caller reported a bear at Sitka National Historic Park.

At 3:30 a.m. a welfare check was requested on Monastery Street.

At 9:44 a.m. a citizen contact call came in from 210 Baranof St.

A parking problem was reported at 11 a.m. at Sea Mart.

At 1:38 p.m. an animal problem was reported on Finn Alley.

At 8:31 p.m. a noise complaint in the 4000 block of HPR came in.

A call about drunkenness came in at 8:33 p.m. from the 1200 block of Edgecumbe Drive.

At 9:34 p.m. a traffic stop was made in the 1800 block of SMC.

Citizen contact was made at 9:50 p.m. at Crescent Harbor.

July 17

At 12:55 a.m. a bear was reported on Johnson Street.

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 12:47 a.m. Thursday and 12:14 a.m. today.

At 9:42 a.m. an engine was dispatched to 210 Baranof St. where a car had leaked a small amount of gasoline. The car owner took care of it.

 

In Court

Devon M. Daly, 32, on a March 27, 2019, charge of criminal mischief in the third degree (damage under $750), a class C felony, was sentenced to 18 months, suspended. Charges of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the fourth degree and attempted criminal trespass in the first degree were dismissed.
