Police Blotter
Police received the following calls by 8 a.m. today:
July 17
A caller said a man trespassed from a property on HPR was on the premises. Officers found it was the man’s brother, who was allowed to be there.
At 8:44 a.m. a harbor staff member expressed concern about a man walking through Sealing Cove Harbor with a bat. He left in an SUV before police arrived.
TSA reported a passenger boarding with marijuana. He turned out to have the necessary paperwork, so no police help was needed.
An ambulance was dispatched for a person who fell outside a short-term housing complex.
Police picked up what appeared to be meth, at Eliason Harbor. It was placed into evidence, to be destroyed.
A man asked for police help after his girlfriend struck him. The two made conflicting statements, and charges will be forwarded.
At 4:46 p.m. a person was reported missing from her group home, but it turned out to be a misunderstanding on where she was going to be.
A man said he lost his wallet on the airline when he flew in. He was advised of his options.
At 9:40 p.m. a grocery store said a man had paid with a counterfeit $100 bill, and when confronted he fled from the store. An officer confiscated the bill.
At 10 p.m. a caller on Lance Drive said a neighbor was running a chainsaw, keeping the caller awake. While the caller was on the phone with police the noise stopped.
At 10:38 p.m. a caller said a man was stalking her, following her in his car while she’s walking, and speaking to her through the vents in her apartment bathroom. The caller was advised of her options regarding a stalking order.
July 19
At 12:11 a.m. a caller said an intoxicated man was sleeping outside a Katlian Street restaurant. An officer took the man to where he’s staying while in Sitka.
At 1:07 a.m. a caller at ANB Harbor said a vessel was sinking and all except the bow was underwater. Officers, the Harbor Department and the Coast Guard responded.
At 3 a.m. a man flagged down an officer in the 1200 block of SMC and asked if a cab could be called for him.
At 6:11 a.m. a 911 caller complaining of severe abdominal pain was taken to the hospital.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department dispatched ambulances at 11:37 a.m., 2:17 p.m., 4:04 p.m., 8:13 p.m. and 9:26 p.m. Thursday, and 6:14 a.m. today.
