Sitka Rotary Club
Dear Editor: The Sitka Babies and Books board would like to thank the Sitka Rotary Board and members for their recent contribution to our organization. The Sitka Rotary Club has been a strong supporter of Sitka Babies and Books since its inception in 1991!
Rotary’s continuing commitment to our organization helps us support literacy by offering books, programs, and education to the families of Sitka’s youngest children.

Plant Hardening
Dear Editor: About hardening plants at home, I am thinking that the town is not interested in establishing garden plots down Halibut Point Road. How about people planting vegetables such as potatoes in five-gallon buckets at their homes on their doorsteps porches patios or any open space in their yards and parking spaces?
I am thinking that soil can be made from water and separated corrugated cardboard inner layer sections that do not have toxic compounds that are in plastic tape and printing chemicals on them.
