Sitka Police Department received the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.
July 29
At 6 a.m. a caller said a dog was running at large in the 1800 block of HPR but she couldn’t catch it. Officers caught it and took it to the animal shelter.
At 8:23 a.m. dogs were reported running at large on Eliason Loop and Versa Place. The animal control officer caught one and the owner claimed it at the animal shelter.
At 1:51 p.m. a car owner said a neighbor had sideswiped the car and left.
At 3:12 p.m. a caller complained of noise in the 3400 block of HPR. She was given advice on options.
At 5:14 p.m. a minor traffic accident was reported in the 1800 block of HPR.
At 7:53 p.m. a caller said a debit card he’d borrowed had been taken. Police are investigating.
At 11:51 p.m. a bear was reported on Georgeson Loop.
July 30
At 12:25 a.m. a bear was reported on Indian River Road. At 2:32 a.m. and 2:46 a.m. one was seen on Wolff Drive, and at 3:29 a.m. one was seen on Lance Drive.
At 6:14 a.m. two men were reported moving a compressor that wasn’t operating, at 125 Granite Creek Road.
At 7:19 a.m. a traffic accident involving some damage was reported on Toivo Circle.
