Police received the following calls as of 8 a.m. today:

July 30

An animal problem on Observatory Street was logged at 8:56 a.m.

A parking problem was reported on Monastery at 9:34 a.m.

A bike was reported stolen on Brady Street.

A welfare check was made at the Castle Hill parking lot at 2:33 p.m.

A theft was reported on Burkhart Street.

A noise complaint on Georgeson Loop was reported at 4:02 p.m.

Suspicious activity was reported on Anna Drive at 5 p.m.

A downtown shop reported a theft.

Civil disputes were reported at a Katlian bar at 8:10 p.m. and at Eliason Harbor at 8:19 p.m.

A noise complaint in the 700 block of Lake Street came in at 10:10 p.m.

July 31

Suspicious activity at the ANB Harbor parking lot was reported at 2:30 a.m.

 

Sitka Police

Glen Roland Jones, 30, was charged Thursday with violating conditions of release.

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received an ambulance call at 10:37 a.m. Thursday.

At 9:47 p.m. Thursday a fire engine was sent to 200 Flume Circle where burned food had caused alarm.

 

In Court

 

Amanda Rose Skultka, 33, on a Feb. 8, 2020, charge of assault in the fourth degree, recklessly injure, was sentenced to 365 days with 335 days suspended, and placed on probation until July 23, 2023. A charge of assault in the third degree, cause injury with a weapon, was dismissed. On an April 27 charge of violating conditions of release for a felony she was fined $250. On a May 22 charge of violating conditions of release for a felony she was sentenced to five days. Charges of criminal mischief in the fourth degree, property damage $250-$749, and violating conditions of release for a misdemeanor were dismissed. On a June 12 charge of violating conditions of release for a felony she was sentenced to 45 days with 35 days suspended, and ordered to get an integrated behavioral health assessment and follow recommendations. She was placed on probation until July 23, 2023. A charge of violating conditions of release for a misdemeanor was dismissed.
