Sitka Police Department received the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.
July 2
At 12:22 a.m. a domestic issue was reported.
A bear was reported on Rudolph Walton Drive at 3:38 a.m. and 3:54 a.m.
A bicycle theft was reported on Harbor Drive.
At 7:36 p.m. a caller on Lakeview Drive reported a beagle was at the door. Officers tracked down the owner.
At 11:25 p.m. fireworks were reported on Indian River Road.
At 11:38 p.m. fireworks were reported on Flume Circle.
July 3
A family fight was reported at a Harbor Drive establishment at 1:29 a.m.
At 1:46 a.m. a caller said three men were walking along the 200 block of Lincoln Street knocking down signs on buildings. Officers found no signs of disturbance.
At 1:47 a.m. a caller said people were yelling and overturning garbage cans on Seward Street. Officers spoke to the people and warned them about the noise and causing a disturbance.
Noise complaints came in from the 300 block of Seward Street at 3:19 a.m. and on Indian River Road at 6 a.m.
A welfare check was requested at 508 HPR at 6:19 p.m.
At 7:48 p.m. a woman was reported sleeping on rocks along the shore in the 900 block of Lincoln Street. Officers found she was intoxicated but able to care for herself.
At 8:57 p.m. A DeGroff Street resident reported seeing a men peering in the window. Officers were unable to located the man.
At 9:36 a.m. citizen contact was made at Lake and Lincoln streets.
Fireworks were reported in the 1200 block of HPR at 9:10 p.m.; on Flume Circle at 9:40 p.m.; on Lance Drive at 10:29 p.m.; and in the 200 block of HPR at 10:39 p.m.
July 4
At 12:37 a.m. a hit and run was reported at Kincaid and Monastery.
At 1:23 a.m. people were reported being loud in the Castle Hill parking lot. Officers were unable to locate anyone.
At 2:01 a.m. a domestic disturbance was reported in the 200 block of Lincoln Street. After officers arrived the couple agreed to separate for the night.
An incident of drunkenness was reported at Seward Street and Lake.
At 4:50 a.m. citizen contact was made on Tilson Street.
Bear sightings were reported on Anna Circle at 5:03 a.m., 5:25 p.m. and at 5:27 a.m.; on Shotgun Alley at 5:40 p.m.; at 2409 SMC at 5:54 a.m.; and at 2501 SMC at 5:56 a.m.
A traffic complaint on Lance Drive was filed at 7:25 p.m.
At 7:29 p.m. fireworks were reported on Flume Circle.
At 10:47 p.m. a citizen assist was logged at Kashevaroff Street and HPR.
At 11:31 p.m. fireworks were reported at First Street and Monastery Street.
July 5
At 12:29 a.m. fireworks were reported in the 300 block of Eliason Loop.
At 10:35 a.m. the owner reported an 8-month-old red Lab had run off after being frightened by fireworks, in the 4600 block of HPR.
A traffic complaint was filed at 11:14 a.m. from SMC and Smith Street.
At 1:09 p.m. A DeGroff Street resident reported seeing someone looking in the window. Officers were unable to find the person.
At 1:40 p.m. a caller said a Labrador had come into the yard.
At 2:28 p.m. an man said a dog had bitten him in the 1200 block of SMC. He did not want to press charges. Officers contacted the dog’s owner for verification it had had a rabies shot.
At 2:55 p.m. a parking problem was reported at Sealing Cove.
At 4:05 p.m. a customer was reported to have left Petro Express without paying for the gas. Officers contacted him and he agreed to pay.
At 8:25 p.m. citizen contact was made at Sea ’n’ Ski Trailer Court.
At 9:15 p.m. juveniles on motorbikes were reported going up and down the trail near Wortman Loop, apparently connected by ropes, and making noise. They were gone when officers arrived.
July 6
At 2:41 a.m. a bear was reported on Andrew P. Hope Street.
Suspicious activity was reported on Verstovia Avenue at 3 a.m.
At 3:06 a.m. two men were at Castle Hill. Officers told the two, who were apparently from out of town, that it was after-hours at the park.
At 3:26 a.m. a caller in the 1900 block of HPR reported seeing two individuals peeking around his boat, hiding, then running for Sandy Beach. Officers were unable to locate them.
Sitka Police
Kasi Kinslow was charged Saturday with driving under the influence.
Joshua Young, 23, was charged Sunday with driving under the influence.
Rory Williams, 43, was charged Sunday with violating conditions of release.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received six ambulance calls Friday, eight on Saturday, nine of Sunday, the 4th of July, and five on Monday.
