Police Blotter
Police received the following calls as of 8 a.m. today:
July 7
A theft was reported at a downtown apartment building.
At 7:53 a.m. a welfare check was made at the Keet ball field.
At 8:03 a.m. a welfare check was requested at Eagle Beach.
At 10:18 p.m. a caller reported a case of animal cruelty in the 500 block of HPR.
A theft was reported at a store in the 1800 block of HPR.
Between 9:55 p.m. and 10:05 p.m. traffic stops were made in the 1800 block of HPR, Sandy Beach and the 500 block of HPR.
At 10:11 p.m. a traffic accident with an injury was reported at 719 Lake St. An arrest was made.
July 8
At 3:13 a.m. criminal mischief was reported at Eliason Harbor.
At 4:30 a.m. and 5:10 a.m. callers reported a bear at 1820 Edgecumbe Drive.
At 9:06 a.m. a traffic stop was made in the 100 block of Lincoln Street.
Sitka Police
Devon Daly, 32, was charged Tuesday night with driving under the influence, violating conditions of release, refusal to submit to a chemical test, and leaving the scene of an accident.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received five ambulance calls Tuesday. At 4:55 p.m. personnel responded to an alarm at Keet Gooshi Heen, 307 Kashevarof. The alarm was reset.
