Sitka Police Department received the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.
July 8
At 1:16 a.m. a hit and run was reported at DeArmond and New Archangel streets.
At 5:39 a.m. citizen contact was made at Blatchley Middle School.
At 8:06 a.m. a welfare check was requested at Sandy Beach.
A traffic accident with damage was reported at Crescent Harbor at 9:51 a.m.
Parking problems were reported on Kaagwaantaan at 1:02 a.m.; at the Castle Hill parking lot at 1:05 p.m.; and at Sealing Cove at 1:16 a.m.
At 1:57 p.m. an animal problem was reported on Indian River Road.
At 4:49 p.m. citizen contact was logging in the 1600 block of SMC.
An animal call came in from the 700 block of Monastery Street at 9:15 p.m.
At 9:57 p.m. an animal call came in from the 400 block of Katlian Street.
July 9
At 12:56 a.m. a bear was reported in the 3000 block of Barker Street.
At 1:54 a.m. suspicious activity was reported in the 300 block of Katlian Street.
At 2:26 a.m. another call came in about a bear in the 3000 block of Barker Street.
At 6:18 a.m. a call came in about a bear in the Sea ’n’ Ski Trailer Court area.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received four ambulance calls Thursday.
In Court
Michelle Lauren Murdock, 32, on a May 27 charge of driving under the influence was sentenced to 80 days with 77 days suspended and fined $2,000 with $500 suspended. She is to receive a behavioral health assessment and follow recommendations. Her driver’s license was revoked for 90 days, and after regaining driving privileges she is to use an ignition interlock device for six months. She was placed on probation for two years.
