Police received the following calls as of 8 a.m. today:

May 29

A bear was reported at 12:18 a.m. at 2716 HPR.

A citizen assist was logged at 2:05 p.m. in the 400 block of Lincoln Street followed by a citizen contact call from the same address at 2:53 p.m.

Suspicious activity was reported at 5:52 p.m. in the 1700 block of HPR.

A bear was reported at 10:10 p.m. at 2609 HPR.

May 30

Citizen contact was made at Herring Cove Road at 1:38 a.m.

An assault was reported in the 2000 block of SMC at 9:18 a.m.

Traffic stops were made in the 3900 block of HPR, the 1200 block of SMC, and the 600 block of HPR.

May 31

At 1:26 a.m. a welfare check was requested at Thomsen Harbor.

At 8:52 a.m. a disturbance was reported a Seward Street business.

At 10:38 a.m. a welfare check was requested on Monastery Street.

Drunkenness was reported at 11:53 a.m. in the 600 block of HPR and at 12:17 p.m. at the skate park.

At 33:36 p.m. suspicious activity was reported at totem park.

At 10:51 a.m. a bear was reported at 4804 HPR.

June 1

At 12:53 a.m. suspicious activity was reported at a downtown apartment building.

 

Sitka Police

Jeffrey B. Stewart, 58, was charged Friday with driving under the influence and two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor. 

 

Emergency Calls

 

Sitka Fire Department received EMS calls at 8:32 a.m. Friday; 3:37 a.m., 10:22 a.m., 1:26 p.m., 7:04 p.m. and 9:46 p.m. Saturday; and at 1:25 a.m., 6 a.m., 9:27 a.m., 11:05 a.m. and 2:39 p.m. Sunday.
