Food Boxes

Dear Editor: Throughout the last several months, Sitkans Against Family Violence has received tremendous support in our efforts to provide food boxes to the community.

We would like to share our gratitude to Sea Mart Quality Foods for supporting us to organize a food drive, and for regular weekly donations to our pantry. We would also like to thank the Coast Guard Spouses’ and Women’s Association for allowing us to have a food collection box at the Rainy Day Bazaar. Additionally, First Bank, the White Elephant, the Sitka Conservation Society, and AC Lakeside supported SAFV with financial contributions designated specifically for food that will allow us to continue to provide to our community.

That being said, we would like to encourage anyone in need of a food box to call SAFV and arrange for pickup at the SAFV Shelter. Food boxes are available to anyone located in Sitka, without question. Advocates are available seven days per week at (907) 747-3370. Please call ahead to arrange. Gunalchéesh to all the wonderful individuals and organizations who have this possible.

Natalie Wojcik,

Executive Director,
